When we first talked about creating a coworking space in South Haven, MI, most of our friends and family's questions consisted of confusion. "You're going to open a space for people to come and work?". "Why wouldn't people just work at home if they don't have an office?" Or "What is a coworking space?" All great questions that we were so excited to answer!
The concept behind ThinkBar was simple. We were eager to offer a collaborative space for small businesses AND larger companies to meet with their staff. Somewhere they would get their creative juices flowing and start brainstorming new possibilities for their company's future! You'd be amazed by how a change in scenery can benefit a team.
Not only is a coworking space a great option for fully staffed companies, but it's an area for freelancers to call their own. A designated place to go every day to get their business off the ground and blossom into an operating company! Especially if their home doesn't have an office area or space to focus. We also love the idea of bringing professional freelancers together to network, bounce ideas off each other and find like-minded individuals. *Fun fact: approximately 36% of America's workforce are freelancers contributing over $1.4 trillion to the country's economy. Why not offer a space to bring them all together in our area?!
Lastly, ThinkBar is a place of focus for our fellow remote workers. Even before 2020, many people didn't have an official office to go into every day, which, as many of us know now, has it's many challenges. A coworking space provides a distraction-free zone to promote productivity and efficiently get through those to-do lists! Without being surrounded by household chores and children's duties, even just for a couple of hours.
